General Club Rules
General Club Rules: East Cavan Swim Club
The aim of our club is to improve fitness and social integration. We believe that taking part counts more than winning, laying the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
Affiliation & Membership
- The Club is affiliated to Swim Ireland and abides by their rules, Child Protection policies, and Code of Ethics.
- Swimmers must be competent in all strokes and assessed by coaching staff to join.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required. Swimmers must be poolside 5 minutes before the session starts. Irregular attendance may result in losing your place in the club.
Safety & Supervision
- Parents must provide an up-to-date emergency contact number.
- The Club is only responsible for children during their scheduled swimming session. Parents must ensure prompt drop-off and collection.
- Children under 10 must be accompanied by a designated adult. Written permission is required if a child is allowed to walk home alone.
Galas & Club Trips
- Competition entry is at the discretion of the coaches. Parents are responsible for returning entry forms and fees by the specified deadlines.
- Written consent is mandatory for all club outings.
- For away trips with group transport, two male and two female adults will accompany the group. If group transport is not provided, parents are responsible for their own child's travel.
- The club accepts no responsibility for swimmers who miss departure times.
Conduct & Discipline
- Members must follow all directions from coaches and committee members. Failure to adhere to rules may result in dismissal.
- Coaches may remove a swimmer from a session for misbehavior. The swimmer will wait under supervision in the reception area until collected by a parent.
Note: All members and parents must sign a declaration accepting these rules before renewing or taking up membership.
